Reassigning an Asset Number

The Number/Organization tab lets you reassign the asset number of an existing asset in FASTER Web. The new asset number must not already exist in the organization as the organization cannot have multiple assets with the same asset number.

The following is the Number/Organization tab:

To reassign the asset number of an asset

1. Click the Assets module.
2. In the Actions section, click Reassign Assets.
3. Click the Number/Organization tab.
4. In the Asset Organization list, select the asset organization.
5. In the Asset Number box, type the asset number that you want to reassign.
6. Click Verify Asset to verify if the asset number exists in the selected organization.
7. In the Reassign as asset number section, type the new asset number in the Asset Number box.
8. In the Reassign as asset organization section, select the asset organization in the Asset Organization list.
9. Click Reassign.
   The Reassignment Successful message and the new reassignment details are displayed.

   Note: You can click the Return to Reassign Number/Organization link to return to the Number/Organization tab and reassign another asset.
