Maintenance/ TWS Settings

The Maintenance/ TWS Settings section lets you define the following settings for technicians in the Technician Workstation (TWS) portal:

  • Spending Authorization: Document refers to a work order or direct charge in FASTER Web. The Spending Authorization setting lets you define whether or not authorization is required when the total cost of the wok order exceeds the threshold amount allocated for the work order. The threshold amount/ maximum fund is configured for the maintenance shop work order from Setup > Application Setup > Maintenance > Fields > Maintenance Shop > Approval Threshold Amount.

Note: If you are using the AD FS Mode - FASTER and AD FS Authentication mode and if a user who does not have the Can Authorize Spending permission has exceeded the Spending Threshold, a message to Authorize or to Notify the appropriate user is displayed. In this scenario, the Authorize option allows a user who has the Can Authorize Spending permission to instantly authorize the spending.

An AD FS user will not be able to approve the spending limit for a work order or a direct charge at the user's client using the Authorize option. Instead, if the AD FS user wants to approve the spending limit, another user who has the Can Authorize Spending permission on the relevant shop must log in to FASTER Web and then approve the work order or direct charge spending limit on the document's Master tab.

  • TWS Use PIN Code: Every technician has a PIN code to log into the Technician Workstation (TWS). This setting lets you define whether or not the PIN code validation is required.
