Repair Action

Action refers to the repair or the maintenance activity performed on a component.

From the Action tab, you can perform the following:

  • Add New Repair Action
  • Edit Repair Action

Adding New Repair Action

The Add Picklist Value dialog box lets you add a new repair action in FASTER Web.

To add a new repair action

  1. Open the Repair Codes page.
  2. Click the Action tab.
  3. In the Repair Action section, click Add New Repair Action.
    The Add Picklist Value dialog box opens.
  4. In the Action Code box, type a code for action.
  5. In the Action Description box, type a brief description about the action.
  6. Click one of the following
  • Save to save the information and close the dialog box.
  • Save & New to save the information and add another record.
  • Cancel to disregard any changes and close the dialog box.

Editing Repair Action

The Edit Picklist Value dialog box lets you modify or update the existing action information.

Note: You can modify the action information only if the action is not assigned to a component. After you create a group-component-action association from the Repair Group Component Action tab, you cannot delete or modify the action code and description. You can make the action obsolete, and then add a new action if required.

To search and edit repair action

  1. Open the Repair Codes page.
  2. Click the Action tab.
  3. In the Search Repair Action section, Specify the following search parameters:
    • In the Action Code box, type a code for the component.
    • In the Action Description box, type a brief description about the component.

      Note: Select the Exact Match check box if you are sure about the specified action code and action description.

  4. Click Search.
    The Repair Action grid displays the search results along with the following information:
    • Action Code
    • Action Description
    • Status
  5. Click Edit next to a repair action that you want to edit.
    The Edit Picklist Value dialog box opens.
  6. Make the required changes.
  7. Click one of the following:
  • Save to save the information and close the dialog box.
  • Cancel to disregard any changes and close the dialog box.
  • Make Value Obsolete to temporarily hide the action from the action list.
  • Delete to permanently delete the action code from the FASTER Web.
